Welcome to Books Matter Ltd. In February 2014, I started the venture to continue working with clients that needed bookkeeping assistance and training. I enjoy teaching clients how to do bookkeeping as well as teaching the software.

 

I took accounting courses in High School and then continued with courses in college. I enjoy working with numbers as well as setting up the programs. Life's road took me away from studies for a short while, however not from accounting. As I worked with my in-laws on our mixed farm with cattle and grain, as well as raising quarter horses, and took care of our farm books. After moving to the Leduc area in 2001 , I continued with small business books and assisted a local oilfield company with their books.

 

In 2008, I expanded my services and started helping other small retail businesses in Leduc with their bookkeeping needs. While working with my accounting firm in Leduc, their farm niche introduced me to many clients in the agriculture industry.

 

I took Sage (Simply Accounting) set-up course to refresh myself with the program and see the new information that Sage had setup. This assisted me in being able to expand in the local data entry market as Quickbooks wasn't as commonly used then as it is today.

 

While working at the accounting firm I also served as software support for the clients. If they needed data entry assistance I was the person to call. In 2013, I completed the Bookkeeping Certification course that was offered by IPBC, Institute of Professional Bookkeepers. This association provides bookkeepers with on-going training and support.
